What's up out there? My name's Matt, I'm in my late-20's, been a photographer since the high school days, but I didn't start taking it seriously till I was in college. Got my degree in photojournalism back in '99 from Ohio University, worked as a newspaper photographer for a few years right out of school while living in metro Detroit, but found myself becoming more involved with page design and production work, (probably cuz it's a bit more lucrative.) I moved to Chicago in 2002, and since then I've gotten back in to doing photography again for a living, (although not the most creative style of photography... I work for a business magazine.) So yeah, the point of this photoblog is to post some of the random, more abstract, off the cuff images I've taken in recent months, and plan on taking in upcoming months, and in the process, hopefully get some feedback and what not from anyone who wants to comment. Feel free to give a shout....

Photography, design, baseball, cats, playing drums, food commentating, cooking, drinking, drinking, angrying up the ol' blood w/ politics and then drinking more, film history, Adbusters, and various other types of edu-tainment.

Well, my favorite genres are probably hip-hop and psychedelic rock., Bands I like: Can, Sabbath, 13th floor elevators, domakesaythink, my bloody valentine, primal scream, cannibal ox, mf doom, fridge, and way too many others to mention....

Again, way too many good ones, but some faves are: boogie nights, triplets of belleville, the original Dawn of the Dead, carnage, happiness, vanishing point...

Not too much interesting on these days, besides The Simpsons., A few years back, Upright Citizens Brigade and Mr. Show were where it was at.

1984, american psycho, crime and punishment, the stranger - a nice dark mix of morbid existentialism is good for the soul.
